The metaphor of blood is beautifully used to symbolize his own pains, sufferings and struggles bathing in which made him clean, pure, reinvigorated and strong. Perhaps, his call for help itself has lost its’ efficacy and therefore, he leaves the world weeping mournfully and with dust and mud on his head the symbol of burial.
