Gujarati Lyrics Song Explanation

The song as explained from lyricist’s perspective. The song is a Bollywood style fast-paced Romantic Gujarati Garba, depicting Krishna cajoling estranged Radha by praising her beauty and dance. Radha knows the prank but finally she falls for him and their squabble ends on a happy note. Composed in a traditional fast Gujarati Groovy Garba melody to make everyone dance at Navratri, Wedding Events and Parties. Recorded with a lot of traditional live instruments. Divya Kumar and Pooja Dave has done full justice to bring out the sweetness of the theme with their powerful sweet romantic voices enhanced by equally imaginative modern composition and live musical instruments. 1. हे जी रे बंधायो जुओ जशोदा नो जायो, प्रेम जाळ मां तारणहारो केवो फसायो, जुओ के रूठी राधा ने मनावे छे कानो, मनमोहन राधा ना रूप थी भरमायो, he jii re ba.ndhaayo ju.o jashodaa no jaayo, prem jaal maa.n taaranhaaro kevo fasaayo, ju.o ke ruuTHii raadhaa ne manaave chhe kaano, manmohan raadhaa naa ruup thii bharmaayo, હે જી રે બંધાયો જુઓ જશોદા નો જાયો, પ્રેમ જાળ માં તારણહારો કેવો ફસાયો, જુઓ કે રુઠી રાધા ને મનાવે છે કાનો, મનમોહન રાધા ના રૂપ થી ભરમાયો, जायो – son तारण हारो, मनमोहन – Lord Krishna The Garba commences with a Doha telling people to see Krishnaa himself, son of Jashodaa, tied up and entangled in the strings of love despite being the saviour of the world and coaxes estranged Raadhaa as he is so smitten by her beauty. 2. गौरी मने लाग्या तारा नयनो ना बाण, छोने मने लाग्यो तारी मुरली नो नाद, gaurii mane laagyaa taaraa naino.n naa baan, chhone mane laagyo taarii murlii no naad, ગૌરી મને લાગ્યા તારા નૈનોં ના બાણ, છોને મને લાગ્યો તારી મુરલી નો નાદ, गौरी – girl, beloved मुरली - flute To cajole Raadhaa, Krishnaa starts telling her that he is so smitten by the arrows of her eyes and Raadhaa tells him that despite loving his flute playing, she is not going to fall for his coaxing tactics. 3. मने कर्यो हलाल गोरा रंग ना कमाले, बनी ऊँघ नी वैरी तारी बिंदी ललाटे, आ सिंगार जोई चाँद जो केवो छुपायो, काळा केश नी हवा मां वायरो सुकायो, mane karyo halaal goraa rang naa kamaale, banii ungh nii vairii taarii bi.ndii lalaaTe, aa singaar jo.ii chaa.nd jo kevo chhupaayo, kaalaa kesh nii havaa maa.n vaayro sukaayo, મને કર્યો હલાલ ગોરા રંગ ના કમાલે, બની ઊંઘ ની વૈરી તારી બિંદી લલાટે, આ સિંગાર જોઈ ચાઁદ જો કેવો છુપાયો, કાળા કેશ ની હવા માં વાયરો સુકાયો, हलाल – killed वैरी – enemy ललाटे – forehead वायरो – wind Krishnaa further praises her that he dies over her wonderful fair complexion, and he lost his sleep over her ornamental dot on her forehead. He goes even further in praising her with beautiful metaphors by saying that even moon is ashamed when it sees her beauty being more than that of moon itself and that the wind itself is being dried by her fluttering, waving, undulating beautiful black long hairs rather than wind drying her hairs. 4. श्यामल तारो रंग ने मन मां तारा खोट, जाणु हूँ तने, चाहे मान तू मने भोट, shyaamal taaro rang ne man maa.n taara khoT, jaanu.n hu.n tane, chaahe maan tuu mane bhoT, શ્યામલ તારો રંગ ને મન માં તારા ખોટ, જાણું હું તને, ચાહે માન તૂ મને ભોટ, श्यामल – black भोट – ignorant, innocent, naive Now, Raadhaa, realising the real intentions of Krishnaa behind his cajoling tactics, remarks that his intentions are not honest, and his heart is also black like his complexion and that she is not naive enough to fall for any of that. 5. Now, Krishnaa changes his tactic and leverages her possessiveness and tells her that there are so many other girls flocking around him to accompany him in this night of dancing. 6. तू मायावी मोहन ने हुँ तारी माया, जाती ना रहे शरद पूनम नी छाया, नथी तारी मुरली नो नाद तो वर्षा छे आग, बधी सूनी छे शेरी ने छे सूनो मन नो बाग़, सज्यो मारा तन पर ने वस्यो तू मन मां, छोड़ी ने संसार ले हुँ आवी शरण मां, tuu maayaavi mohan ne hu.n taarii maayaa, jaatii naa rahe sharad puunam nii chhaayaa, nathii taarii murlii no naad to varshaa chhe aag, badhii suunii chhe sherii ne chhe suuno man no baag, sajyo maara tan par ne vasyo tuu man maa.n, chhoDii ne sansaar le hu.n aavii sharan maa.n, તૂ માયાવી મોહન ને હું તારી માયા, જાતી ના રહે શરદ પૂનમ ની છાયા, નથી તારી મુરલી નો નાદ તો વર્ષા છે આગ, બધી સૂની છે શેરી ને છે સૂનો મન નો બાગ, સજ્યો મારા તન પર ને વસ્યો તૂ મન માં, છોડી ને સંસાર લે હું આવી શરણ માં, Finally Krishnaa succeeded and Raadhaa fell for his tactics and started telling him that they are inseparable because if he is creator of this miraculous universe then she is a miracle so created and so dares him not to waste the full moon night. Now, she started coaxing Krishnaa, who is feigning to be estranged, by telling him that without the music of his flute even the rainy season is flaming hot and that all streets and the garden of her heart are all desolate and lonely. She further asserts that he is the only one who is embellishment of her body and who stays in her heart. Finally, she completely gives up and surrenders to Krishnaa, lovingly stating that she has abandoned the entire world to surrender to him. 7. श्वासो मां छे तारा पायल नो झंकार, मारा तन मन पर गौरी तारो अधीकार, छोरा मने लाग्यो तारी मुरली नो नाद, shvaaso maa.n chhe taaraa paayal no jhankaar, maaraa tan man par gaurii taaro adhikaar, chhoraa mane laagyo taarii murlii no naad, શ્વાસો માં છે તારા પાયલ નો ઝંકાર, મારા તન મન પર ગૌરી તારો અધિકાર, છોરા મને લાગ્યો તારી મુરલી નો નાદ, Now, the clever Krishnaa sees that Raadhaa has already surrendered and it is futile to continue the squabble, and therefore, he also starts telling her that her anklets music is in his breath all the time and that she also rules his body and mind. Now, the entire quarrel ends on such a sweet note, and both start chanting the same note with Raadhaa changing her line from “despite my liking for your flute playing” that was at the beginning to “hey, boy, I have fallen for your flute playing” and with Krishnaa chanting “I am so smitten by the arrows of your eyes”. On such sweet note, the song slowly fades away to a happy ending of this perpetual divine love story of wonderful Indian mythology.
